People tend to talk about online casinos as if they are one thing. They are not. The difference between a well-regulated, transparent operator and a grey-area platform is significant.

Licensed operators in the UK, for example, are held to standards by the Gambling Commission. They are audited, their games are tested for fairness, and they are required to offer responsible gambling tools. Operators in less-regulated jurisdictions may not have any of that.

That does not mean every UK-licensed operator is brilliant, or every offshore one is a disaster. But the regulatory framework matters. And as a player, knowing where a platform is licensed — and what that actually means — is more important than most people realise.
